We’re Back, Baby!

So, last year I decided to get into the newsletter game and chose this cool platform called Revue.

I was stoked that it linked up with my Twitter account, but then things went south real fast. Elon Musk (who's doing a bang-up job of wrecking Twitter, by the way) demanded that Revue be shutdown permanently.

Just when I was getting into the groove, my newsletter got Thanos snapped out of existence.

But I didn't let it get me down and soon found a new platform to call home: Beehiiv.

Fast-forward a few months, and we're back in business!

Who is this newsletter for?

Well, if you're reading this first edition, chances are you're either a close friend or one of my biggest fans. Either way, you're a total legend - give yourself head pats!

To be honest, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing with this platform. But one thing's for sure: I'm all about creating content for fellow gamers who love this stuff as much as I do. So here's what I'm thinking for the future...

Everything, Everywhere, All At Once

So, you probably know me as the ✨Twitch streamer with the giant forehead✨ 

But I've got so many other things I want to do! I've got a ton of ideas for videos on all sorts of topics that I'm super passionate about. Plus, I see some real needs out there, and I think I'm just the person to help out.

Honestly, my ambition to create fun and educational content for creators is almost as big as my forehead (almost). I really hope that people who dig my stuff will be able to keep up with all my latest projects.

That's why I'm gonna be using this newsletter to keep everyone in the loop on what I'm up to. Whether it's stuff I'm already working on or stuff I haven't even announced yet, subscribers will be the first to know!

So What Am I Working On?

1. Dim The Lights on Twitch

Can you believe it's been three whole years since I started seriously streaming on Twitch? Man, time flies when you're default dancing on 13-year old kids! I don't intend on stopping anytime soon. I'm gonna keep on streaming for as long as I possibly can.

Of course, I'm still gonna be all about that variety content. I've got some seriously cool stuff in the works - new playthroughs, collabs with familiar faces, and events that I can't wait to share with you. We've got a community tournament coming up, an anniversary celebration, a Star Wars Day party, and a whole lot more!

Trust me, if you're even a little bit curious about what's going on in my world, you're gonna wanna stick around. This is the place to be, my friends!

2. Continuing My Shift Toward YouTube

I've been talking a lot lately about how I'm gonna be putting more energy into YouTube. And you know what? I'm gonna keep that train rolling for the rest of 2023 - I've got big plans for all three of my YouTube channels: DimTheLights, Learn With Dim, and DimTheLights VODs.

The biggest obstacle has been editing my content. I've been trying to find a solid video editor to help me crank out more content. You'd think it'd be easy - I mean, I get tons of DMs from folks who say they wanna work with me. But for some reason, it's been a real challenge to find someone who's actually a good fit. And just so you know, I've been totally upfront about the fact that I'm willing to pay well for the right person! If you would like to recommend someone, hit me up on Twitter.

While that search continues, I will still multi-stream on both Twitch and YouTube and edit my own videos. 3. ASMR with Dim

I know you don't want to hear any gross mouth noises in your earbuds, so don't worry - that won't be happening.

I'm actually referring to my new podcast. Yup, you heard that right - I'm starting up a brand new show! It's been six whole years since I did my first one, and even though it didn't last very long, I always wished I could've given it another shot.

But now's the time! I've been busting my butt to bring you the spiritual successor to my original podcast, the Dim The Lights Film Podcast. And this time, we're doing something a little different. We're gonna be talking about movies and TV shows that are based on video games. It's the perfect combo of two things I absolutely love: gaming and movies.

Trust me, there's gonna be some seriously good stuff on this show. So stay tuned!
